KIDShow Las Vegas 2010 Preview

It’s certainly not too late to start planning for KIDShow Las Vegas in February 2010. With more new  exhibitors and brands than ever before, this show is a “can’t miss”  for buyers.

Show coordinator Denise Raeside tells us, “Buyers have found the Las Vegas Market to be cost-effective, with the lowest travel and stay rates in the U.S., and KIDShow has the largest selection of brands the buyers need in their stores – they can get all of their buying done for the season … and take in an entertainment show while they are there, too!”

The list of new exhibitors keeps growing:

Alpha Apparel … Amerex Group LLC with Carter’s / London Fog & Osh Kosh … Blind Mice Socks … Butterfly Treasures … Cazella Innovations … Classroom School Uniforms … Cover Me Blue … EZ Sox … Family Ties … Flyers Group PLC / Ben Sherman Kids … Franco Apparel Group with Eddie Bauer / Hello Kitty / Laura Ashley / Little Bitty / Majestic Athletic / Peanuts & Warner Brothers … Frederic Lou with SpaSilk … Funkoos … Happy Kids for Kids … House of Mongrel … Indo Apparel & Gifts … JDC Accessories / Button-Caps … Kate Quinn Organics … Kicky Pants … Kitty Kat Designs … Miquel-Ruis USA … Mooncakes … Peace of Cake … Piccolo Hosiery … Star Ride Kids … Tiny Pants … Z Wear … Zootie Patootie

These brands are showing  alongside long-standing KIDShow exhibiting brands like:

Biscotti … Bon Bebe … Bows Arts … Cach Cach … Calvin Clothing … Carriage Boutiques … Children’s Apparel Network … Dan Post Boot Co. … Genuine Rose … Good Girl … Good Lad … Hip Hop Hosiery … Josmo Shoes … Kalencom … Kiddo … Kids Headquarters with Hurley & Paul Frank Industries … Kissy Kissy … LeTop … Little Things Mean A Lot … Mamiye Bros. with Little Me & Flapdoodles … Nannette … Pediped … Reflectionz … Sage Creek Organics … Sara’s Prints … Shannon Kids … Snopea … Tea Collection … Trimfoot … Truly Me by Sara Sara … Tutu Cute … Vitamins … and many, many more!

Plus, the HUDSON’S Mannequin Maze is now forming. All mannequins are available; email info@hudsonscr.com for RSVP and payment.

Check the KIDShow website for updated brands listings, and for a link to discounted hotel room rates at Bally’s and Paris Hotels – Denise says that the Bally’s  rate of $49.00 per night for a Monday-Wednesday stay  is the lowest rates she’s seen in years.  “It is less expensive to fly and stay in Las Vegas than to drive and stay in the regional markets,” she adds.

Kids at MAGIC

hudson_logo

A small, but distinguished number of children’s wear companies are showing at Kids at MAGIC – one the largest being Classroom Uniforms. “They are reporting a good show,” says HUDSON’S co-founder Margaret Mobius.

TidepoolsSwimwear

Margaret took in the sights, and talked to Brett Keast of Tidepools, a long-time attendee, who predicted they would have a good show – and they are! The San Juan Capistrano, CA-based company offers a colorful and fun swimwear collection.

Margaret also predicted, “MYF International has a new  promising line.”  Established in 1993, MingYuan Fashion  has grown from a 50-person woolen factory to a nearly 500-person enterprise, owning and operating a tatted factory and knitting factory in China. Production reaches more 100,000 pieces, mainly woolen, knitted, tatted, jeans and handiwork, sold in China, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

KIDShow A-Go-Go

hudson_logo

“The show looks really nice.”

Margaret Mobius, co-founder of HUDSON’S and our intrepid trade show attendee, says this morning brought strong attendance once again to KIDShow at Las Vegas’ Bally’s Hotel. “One of the new happenings that KIDShow organized is the afternoon pick-me-up,” she says. “The great snacks like ice cream, caramel corn, pretzels with mustard – plus coffee, tea and more – really help to pick up the afternoon.”

As buyers stop by the HUDSON’S live photo shoot to enjoy the goings on, Margaret dishes on more  companies making a splash this year:

GroupBDMcopySpecial News Flash:Groupe BDM is making a major announcement about their new, top secret product this October,” Margaret says, “and we’re really looking forward to that!” The Canadian corporation specializes in developing mobile sales order and e-commerce solutions for the apparel industry – especially in the children’s wear market. Vancouver, WA-based Knuckleheads, Inc.  is so excited about this, the company is already signed up. Stay tuned …

Another company that caught Margaret’s eye Kidcando, launching at KIDShow. “Husband and wife team Alan and Suzie Keller just wanted to put a good message on a good quality, affordable product,” Margaret says. “Their son helped to come up with the idea of this positive t-shirt line.” The Montclair, NJ-based company makes casual children’s clothing sizes infant through size 14 for boys and girls, including Peruvian made short and long t-shirts, hoodies, track jackets, rompers and hoodie dress. The company plans to donate a percentage of sales to people in need, too.YoungColorscopy

It’s always nice for us to see good friends Robert and Donna Prescott and to find out what they’re up to. Their new marketing campaign for Young Colors … “Real Kids – Real Colorado” …  spotlights hometown kids with hometown styles. Margaret says, “Kids from Robert and Donna’s own neighborhood in Salida, CO are modeling the clothes.” How fun is that?

MooBoosWebsite_Photo_Spring_2010

“I think Moo Boo’s has the most elegant booth here,” she says. “Their beautiful space has a lot of punch to it and really shows off their new line.”

OK – Margaret’s off to Kids at MAGIC Marketplace!

Live from KIDShow!

hudson_logo

HUDSON’S co-founder Margaret Mobius and our team is hard at work shooting fashion from KIDShow, at the Bally’s Hotel in Las Vegas, NV, for our upcoming October/November issue.

They’re having a blast! Lots of buyers and others attending the Vegas extravaganza this year are telling Margaret they’re having a blast, too – getting a good amount of great business done.

That’s always a good thing!

Margaret, always the intrepid trade show attendee, is checking out the floor for the newest of the new – stuff she finds inspiring … and fun!

LaughingOutLoud01copyLaughing Out Loud, designed by ex-lawyer Mila Cole, who hopes to share with other parents styles that evoke the love, laughter and liveliness of her own two sons. Made for boys and girls ages 0 to 6, “It’s a real innovative line offering bright, whimsical styling with fantastic value,” says Margaret, “and it has a great name!” Mila’s designs emphasize comfort and quality and are made of high-grade Pima cotton sourced from her native Peru.

LittleMavencopy

Margaret also popped in to the Hartstrings booth – the company is representing Little Maven by Tori Spelling. “They are having a great success with the line, landing all the major department stores they’ve targeted,” Margaret says, adding that folks need to stay tuned for a whole new PR approach coming soon!

Erie Chang and Sehee Kim are the fabulous team behind Floatimini, designing what they call “the sunny side of swim and resort wear.” Floatimini bathing suits are featured in our September issue, and Margaret says, “Erie and Sehee took a big chance and advertised for the first time with us, and they’re very happy. Their booth was busy all day long.”

HollywoodRanch01copyThe most fun Margaret had all day was at The Hollywood Ranch booth, where “small town charm, big city style” comes to life with what Margaret calls a funky little line that’s really bright and colorful. This past April, Jennifer Hill and Stephanie Capshaw opened their retail store in Rockwall, TX, where they say, “We hope The Hollywood Ranch will continue to dress and accessorize your newest ‘lil ranch-hands as long as we can because we know … Our Babies ROCK the Herd!”
