Popular footwear brand stays true to a mission to “tread lightly” on the environment and to give back whenever possible.
Those who dreamed up the Livie & Luca footwear line like to say if one of their shoes could whisper in your ear it would say, “Spread Joy!” This company responsibly sources and ensures their factories offer ideal working conditions and fair wages. Each month, they donate 10% of their online profits to a worthy charity and regularly donate shoes to local children’s hospitals and overseas relief efforts.

Fresh New Designs. The current Spring/Summer collection draws inspiration from the moon and stars. Co-founder and designer Mitzi Rivas was inspired by the open sky, the planets and the feeling of floating. New designs include the cloud-accented Dawn, starry Nova and rocket ship Juno styles. At the suggestion of customers and after numerous fittings, Livie & Luca’s shoes have a new custom tailored fit, and this includes the expanded baby shoe collection.
Additional new styles include the Flutter butterfly sandals, Boa sandals with a subtle snake detail and the scallop-edged Ivy sandals. Classic styles are given a new twist with bold colors, including the light blue Pio Pios with red bird accents, the shimmery red Celestinas and the teal Barcelonas.
For Big Girls, Too. The Nola ballet flats for women are available in an earthy, sustainable jute -a great neutral- and a rich red for added intrigue. Designed to complement the Fun Dots in jute and the Ruche in red styles for children, the Nolas are a hip alternative to traditional mommy-and-me styles.
For customers seeking an animal product-free alternative, the striped Ferris shoes are 100% vegan and come in nature-inspired colors and playful prints- bark, bamboo and navy for boys, and flora and kiku for girls. Made of breathable fabric and featuring a flexible sole, these comfortable, lightweight shoes are perfect for playtime.

Cute kids shoe company Livie & Luca débuts the newest addition for fall: the Just Born collection of shoes for sizes 0-6 to 18-24 months.
Featuring soft leather uppers with a recycled rubber and suede hybrid sole, these baby shoes are ideal for indoor and outdoor adventures. Find the company’s popular classic styles in these soft flexible shoes, including the London, Holland and Woodland.
Livie & Luca is also debuting their fall/winter collection for children in sizes 4 to 13, featuring the new cadet boots and ruche Mary Janes. Each style features Livie & Luca’s trademark attention to darling details, including animated elephants, rainbow buttons, blossoming flowers and chirping birds.
Livie & Luca was created in 2005 by three moms seeking modern and funky shoes that were also lightweight and flexible for active children. Dedicated to giving back, the company has partnered with Art for Humanity to donate gently-worn shoes to children in Honduras. As they have since the beginning, Livie & Luca donates 10 percent of their online sales to rotating charities.
Check out our March issue – available now – full of all sorts of news and information from around the industry. Here are some of my favorites:
I’m loving the gray/champagne color combos here: Whimsical children’s clothing brand A.Bird Baby is set to hit store shelves this July. The first-ever collection of mix and match pieces are machine washable and sophisticated, with an edgy modern twist, featuring natural bleached linen and light flowing ruffles throughout, pleated frocks, smock tops, leggings, ruffle pants and bloomers in muted cream, grey and eggshell blue hues. For Molly Payne and Patricia Cammareri, a chance meeting at a shoe store sparked this classic, keepsake-quality clothing collection.
These 12 vibrant new styles from Livie & Luca are inspired by the bright, colorful folk art of Latin America. The collection features playful accents including flowers, birds, apples and more. The kid-friendly construction is specially designed to prevent stubbed or pinched toes. Livie & Luca shoes are made of soft leather and environmentally friendly materials and feature a new ultra-flexible sole design with the phrase “think sustainably, recycle your shoes” on the bottom, as the company is committed to “treading lightly” by using recycled leather that would otherwise be discarded and non-benzene glue. Livie and Luca also gives back to children in need, and in partnership with Art for Humanity donates gently-worn shoes to children in Honduras.
Very modern yet practical: New York-based Milkdot® launches the Stöh Lunch Tote, a lunch bag that combines clean and simple design with plenty of room and features perfect for stowing food, drink and utensils. Can be personalized, too. Designed by a parent with children’s safety in mind, every Milkdot product has been thoroughly tested by a CPSC certified lab and is PVC-free and lead-safe.
